Chuck Close

On intuition, I'm dedicating this post to Chris Norton. As this is the last post in this series, I thought it fitting to paint Chuck Close, a modern master of portraiture. I also experimented with a screen recording of the painting so those who have been curious can see a (sped up) portion of the process. Updates on the next painting series to come soon. Thanks all!

And the video: Sorry it jumps, the free trial recording software only records 5 minute segments, and I got tired of restarting it. I recorded a five minute segment every 10 or 15 minutes, and compressed these 8 clips into this 6 minute video. Also, there is no sound.

Vincent van Gogh

Vincent van Gogh, one of the most incredible artists of all time. This was a very enjoyable portrait and quite the change of pace as I was utilizing several paintings and a photograph that may or may not actually be of van Gogh as references. However, I think I'm satisfied with the result. For those that do not know what van Gogh looks like, I have also attached an image of one of his most famous self portraits, which I mainly worked from.
